Top Ten: A Little Bit Dench

After watching Philomena this evening, tonight’s Top Ten is in honour of one of our country’s finest actresses: Dame Judi Dench. The following is my summary of her best roles to date*:

1. Mrs Laura Henderson – Mrs Henderson Presents

2. M – Skyfall, Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale, Die Another Day, The World Is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies, GoldenEye

3. Evelyn Greenslade – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

4. Philomena Lee – Philomena

5. Queen Elizabeth – Shakespeare in Love

6. Lady Catherine de Bourg – Pride & Prejudice

7. Dame Sybil Thorndike – My Week With Marilyn

8. Ursula – Ladies in Lavender

9. Lady Augusta Bracknell – The Importance of Being Earnest

10. Lilli – Nine

* This list excludes Notes on a Scandal, Iris and Tea With Mussolini (as well as everything pre-1997) as I haven’t watched them.

PS. I made it through the first month! This is the first post of the rest of my (blogging) life…
